I welcome the announcement of Mr Hutchison declaring his candidacy for the May 6 election for the electorate of Murchison. I wish him all the best and look forward to engaging with him during this election period.

An election is an important part of our democracy and gives the people of Murchison an opportunity to choose who they wish to represent them for the next 6 years.

I have been extremely privileged to serve this electorate, connect with the community and take their concerns and voices to Parliament. I will be contesting this election, seeking the community’s support to continue the work I have been doing to represent this community.

I remain committed to this vast electorate and holding the government of the day to account, whatever the colour, for the policy and spending decisions made.

I will continue to focus on how government policies relate to and impact on my regional electorate and those who live here, supporting those with challenges from overcharging on energy bills, access to health care and housing to supporting for local community organisations.

The impacts of climate change are real and impact on our beautiful coastlines and agriculture and all aspects of our daily lives. We need to ensure the critical minerals needed to de-carbonise our future are environmentally and responsibly mined.

I acknowledge and support the need to a balanced economy and caring for and providing support those who face many life challenges.

I will continue to pursue my commitment to sensible public policy through the Parliamentary Committee work particularly as Chair of the Joint Public Accounts Committee looking into matters of crucial significance that affect our State’s future and the Government Administration Committee that has held inquiries into many government policy areas including Rural Health care, Fin Fish Farming and King Island Shipping.

I will continue to fight for a second bridge over the Cam River as a critical infrastructure project as well as upgrades to many of our local schools that have not seen major upgrades for decades, including Montello Primary School,

Wynyard High School and Hellyer College as well as many others that need expansion and upgrades to facilities.

I welcome the opportunity to speak to anyone in Murchison about their concerns on matters of concern to them as I have done over the past 18 years.

I welcome your feedback and if you would like to host an election sign for me please reach out through FaceBook Messenger or contact me by email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

I thank the entire community of the North West and West Coasts and King Island for being willing to work with me. I have been proud to represent you and bring your issues and concerns to Parliament. I seek you support to continue this important work.
